Located on the northern edge of the Rif Mountains in Morocco, the city of Al Hoceima lies on the Mediterranean Sea coast and is the capital of the Taza-Al-Hoceima-Taounate region. The city, located on top of cliffs, overlooks two coves, one is a beach (Plage Quernado) and the other is the commercial port. The event first took place in 1600 with the eldest brotherhood, the Vera Cruz. Following the Spanish Civil War, every brotherhood had to restore its patrimony.
