The company we know today has taken the service from its early pioneering days of steam travel to its present position sailing between the mainland and the Isle of Wight up to 150 times a day with 3 routes, the shortest of which lasts just 22 minutes.

A modern fleet of car ferries sails from Lymington to Yarmouth, and Portsmouth to Fishbourne, while high-speed foot passenger catamarans are used on the Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier crossing.

Wightlink is the main link between the Isle of Wight and the mainland and every year carries over 4.6 million passengers.
